Getting started
Download & open
Install the app from the App Store or Google Play. Open it and a short welcome screen explains what the app does.
Set your notifications
Choose which prayers you want reminders for and how far in advance (5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes). Enable notifications for announcements and upcoming lessons.
That’s it
Prayer times update automatically. Announcements arrive when the masjid posts them. Events appear in your calendar.
Common Questions
Do I need an account to use the app?
No — there’s nothing to sign up for. Prayer times, announcements, events, and push notifications all work straight away without an account. (Accounts exist only for the masjid’s own administrators, who use them to post content.)
Does the app work offline?
Yes. The prayer timetable is bundled with the app — no internet needed. Announcements and events you’ve previously loaded are cached on your device.
Where do the prayer times come from?
Directly from the masjid’s own printed timetable, bundled with the app. No calculation, no API. The jama’ah times are as the masjid committee sets them.
Does the app use my location?
Only for the optional Qibla compass. If you open the compass, the app uses your location and device sensors to point toward the Ka’bah. Prayer times never use your location — the masjid’s timetable is bundled with the app — so you can decline the permission and everything except the compass still works.
Will there ever be ads or paid features?
No. This app is a sadaqah jaariyah — an ongoing charity. It will always be free, with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no premium tiers.
Is this app just for The Salafi Masjid?
Yes. It’s built specifically for The Salafi Masjid, Birmingham — its timetable, its announcements, its lessons. It isn’t a multi-mosque directory.
